Are We There Yet?

During the 4th of July Holiday weekend we took a trip to my mom & dad's house. It is approximately a 5 hour drive. It did not take long before my son said "Are we there yet?" Everyone that has kids inevitably has heard this saying. It just varies on the "When" it will be asked. My son took approximately 20 minutes before he asked the question. Now admit it! You have at one point in time have also asked the question too!
This got me thinking though, in life we should be asking ourself that same question. "Are we (I) there yet?" All of us have goals and ambitions that we want to accomplish in life. How we get there is up to us. It may take us days, months or even years to get to that point in our lives. Even though that question may be annoying on a road trip, but on the road trip of life, I believe we should always be asking ourselves that big question "Are we there yet?"

Don't hold back, evaluate where you are in life, and go ahead and ask yourself that question. "Are we there Yet?"

Think about it!

Letl Freedom Ring

It's the 4th of July! Time for BBQ, Chips & Dip, Apple Pie, Playing horseshoes, time with friends and family! Last but not least the FIREWORKS! What can be more American than that? Well, as we take time to celebrate and enjoy this fun time of the year, let's not forget why we are out with our BBQs, playing those outdoor games, having a fun time with family. It is the freedom that we enjoy as Americans.

That freedom came with a price. Let's not forgot all our uniformed men and women past and present that are serving or have served our country to allow us to have this freedom that we enjoy and many time take for granted. Those that have gave the ultimate price for our freedom, their lives!

So let's not forget, take time today to remember those that so bravely have served or are serving today for us to enjoy this wonderful country and freedom that we enjoy!

To that I say a BIG THANK YOU! (Pictured is my Dad whom I am very proud of. He served in the Navy and Air Force for many years!)

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Time with the Big Kitty's

Today I had the awesome experience of seeing up close and petting a couple of white tiger cubs. What an opportunity! Those were some cute and cuddly "little" kittens. I just wanted to pack them up and take them home with me! But with that thought came this.....

I realized these adorable little "kittens" would not stay small for long. That in a few months they would grow and be able to bite my arm or leg off! But WOW! I got to pet them and get up close!

I love my job! When thing like this happen, it is just one more great perk!

Trying Something Different

Hello everyone out there in cyberspace!

This is my first attempt believe it or not at blogging. My vision for my blog is just to be some honest reflection about being a husband and a father. The ups and the downs, the laughs and the tears that all comes with the territory of being a husband and father. I will do my best to keep up and post regulary to this blog! Your comments are always appreciated and welcome! So with that, I hope you enjoy!

Last weekend my wife and I celebrated our 16th Wedding Anniversary! Wow, it does not seem that long ago that I said "I Do" to the most amazing and wonderful person that I have come to love and cherish! We had the awesome opportunity to spend our anniversary with just us! FIVE wonderful days of just my wife and I! All your married folk with kids out there KNOW what any time alone without kids is FEW and FAR between so this was Pure BLISS!!! (Thanks Mom & Dad for watching the kids for us!)

I am a golfer and my wife loves to golf with me as well. It is our sporting activity that we do together. So here was the deal, and that brings me to the title of this blog entry "Trying something different", She told me if she goes golfing with me and I golf 18 holes, then I have to go get a pedicure with her!

OK, A pedicure huh? Well, I must say that I was a little bit reluctant at first. Come on, Me, get a pedicure, NO WAY, but I was willing to try it! So there I was, my wife and I in the mall at the nail salon sitting in the seats with our feet in the tub! I don't know if it was just my self-conscience, but it looked like I was getting a smirk from every guy that walked by the entrance to the nail salon, but I did it! and I must confess, I liked it! I must even say that I would do it again! I dared to do something different.

So what is the moral to this story? Don't be afraid to try something different and out of the ordinary for you. Who knows your might end up liking it and it might be another thing for you and your spouse or significant other to do together and enjoy!

By the way NO I DID NOT get my toe nails painted so don't even ask :)

Until Next Time!
